Our first "big" trip with Chloe

Tomorrow we are off our our first big road trip to Corning with little Miss Chloe. We are excited to see family and friends and introduce them to Chloe. We are going to take a scenic route this time through New Hampshire and Vermont. We have never went this way, but we are looking forward to the scenery. We figure it will be a lot easier stopping with Chloe then on the major highway, where you might drive several miles to get to an exit.

We will post pics and things when we get back home next weekend!! Happy Summer :)

Chloe's 2 months old!!!

Yesterday Chloe had her 2 month well baby checkup. She is growing like a weed!! She weighed 9 pounds 13 ounces, 23 1/4 inches long! So that means she has gained 3 pounds, and is 3 inches longer since birth!! She is in the 30% for weight and 80% for height! Dr. Brooks said Chloe looked good and healthy. She was smiling and cooing to the Dr. So cute! Dr. Brooks is a mother of 8 children and she said she has always wanted a red headed baby. She said red hair runs on her side of the family but not her husbands. Red hair is a recessive gene, which means both the Mom and Dad have to carry the gene. I found that pretty interesting.
We have decided to not give Chloe any vaccinations right now. We have been doing a little research on them and just are not comfortable with all the junk that are in all of these vaccines. We have been reading The Vaccine Book by Robert sears.

Chloe is changing everyday! She is smiling all the time now, cooing and trying to talk. She has rolled over twice during tummy time. She is starting to swat and try and grab things. We have been doing some baby yoga and she loves that!

Nepolean

Our Betta Fish, Nepolean died yesterday. I felt pretty sad, did he die of old age, did I forget to fed him? He was such a beautiful little fishy. We had him for over a year. He survived our big icestorm this past winter, we had to take him with us to the hotel so he wouldnt freeze to death. May he RIP.

Baby Feet

Baby Feet by Edgar Guest
Tell me, what is half so sweetAs a baby’s tiny feet,Pink and dainty as can be,Like a coral from the sea?Talk of jewels strung in rows,Gaze upon those little toes,Fairer than a diadem,With the mother kissing them!
It is morning and she liesUttering her happy cries,While her little hands reach outFor the feet that fly about. Then I go to her and blowLaughter out of every toe;Hold her high and let her placeTiny footprints on my face.
Little feet that do not knowWhere the winding roadways go,Little feet that never tire,Feel the stones or trudge the mire,Still too pink and still too smallTo do anything but crawl,Thinking all their wanderings fair,Filled with wonders everywhere.
Little feet, so rich with charm,May you never come to harm.As I bend and proudly blowLaughter out of every toe,This pray, that God aboveShall protect you with His love,And shall guide those little feetSafely down life’s broader street.

Poem for Chloe

I thought this was the cutest poem!

We’re glad you joined our family,Yet some things make us wonder; How can a little package like you h ave a voice that’s loud as thunder? You are so small and oh so cute, But you are never very shy,For whenever you want something, You just open your mouth and cry. First you moved on hands and knees, Then you were up on your feet. We’re chasing you all around the house; We’re tired; we need a retreat! Some food is on the table; Some food is on the floor;Seems the only place food didnt go,Is in the baby we adore. Diapers here and diapers there,Stinky... smelly... Whew! Diapers would have done us in,If we didnt love you as we do. We’re glad you joined our family,You’re a unique and wonderful treasure. So, despite the work of raising you,Being your parents is a total pleasure!
